All schools must have a ‘Designated Teacher for ‘looked-after and previously looked-after children.’ The Designated Teacher (DT) takes lead responsibility for promoting the needs of children previously in care (CPiC) and provide training and advice to setting staff to help ensure these children’s needs are met with understanding and support.
