Have you received my planning application?
You can track the progress of a planning applications online through the planning application database by reference number or address. An application can take up to 5 days* from validation to become available on our system.
* Please be aware that in times of heavy workloads there may be a delay in processing applications.
How would I know about a planning application?
As part of the process in considering planning applications, we inform neighbours about new applications by letter, site notice or newspaper advertisement. Further details are available on how a planning application is processed. You can also view the weekly list of planning applications, which allows you view by parish name e.g. Ampthill and then by the week you need.
How can you find out about a decision made on an application?
You can view decisions made on planning applications on the planning application database on the website. If you would like a copy of a decision notice this can be downloaded from our website.
How can you find out whether conditions on a planning permission have been approved?
Planning permissions can be granted subject to several conditions. Details of what has been submitted in relation to conditions and what has been approved can be found using our planning application database in a number of ways.
From 10 January 2020, the details submitted to discharge conditions are being set up as new individual applications and given the suffix (DOC). You will be able to find out about these discharge of condition applications by searching the planning application database using the site address or using the interactive maps on My Central Bedfordshire. This will bring up all applications relevant to the site and you will be able to see any Discharge of condition applications received. This will include information of what condition has been discharged and any relevant information accompanying it.
Prior to this date, all the discharge of condition information that we have available would be under the original case reference and can be found using the site address or original application number using the planning application database.

When is the next Development Management Committee meeting?
Development Management Committees are held once a month. Should your application be put onto the agenda you will be contacted advising you of the day and time of the Committee. Committee meeting are filmed and you can watch live at the time or view the webcast.
