Funding – Stotfold Library consultation

If the proposed relocation is put into place, there are the following implications:
- a new lease and charges would need to be negotiated between us and Stotfold Town Council for the Greenacre Centre (there are no costs relating to leaving the existing lease agreement)
- we have a budget of £256,000, comprising a capital budget of £200,000 and Section 106 funding of £56,000; the majority would be spent in 2022 and 2023, if the proposal goes ahead
- we realise that building costs are going up nationally by between 15% and 25% (2021), so there may be increased costs to be considered
The library service would stay open in its current location until the new location is ready.
