SEND Strategy
The Central Bedfordshire SEND Strategy was co-produced and consulted on between November 2021 and June 2022. It was signed off by the Health and Wellbeing Board in October 2022. The strategy provides a three-year plan for the SEND partnership, setting out local area priorities for improving services and outcomes for children and young people with SEND, building on the SEND Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA).
The SEND Strategy will be delivered through three key strategic action plans:
- the SEND Strategy Action Plan (PDF) – focuses on the effective delivery of the priority areas
- the Central Bedfordshire Joint Commissioning Strategy (SEND) (PDF) – outlines the key joint commissioning intentions and plan for delivery
- the Specialist Placement Plan (PDF) – outlines our plans to meet demand for special schools and additional resource provisions
Between 10 July and 1 October 2025, we held a public consultation on the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Strategy 2025–2028 for Central Bedfordshire.
Our SEND Strategy can be found on the Central Bedfordshire SEND Local Offer.
