Renting: How to apply

There are 88 one-bedroom apartments available for affordable rent (up to 80% of local market rent). The apartments have received a Council Tax valuation of band A.

Rental values

One-bedroom rented apartment will cost from £800 per month.

Two-bedroom rented apartment will cost from £920 per month.

There are also six one bedroomed specially adapted accessible apartments that will cost £880 per month.

How to apply?

To be considered for an affordable rented apartment you’ll have to meet the following criteria:

  • be aged over 55

To start the process and find out whether you meet the eligibility requirements for an apartment, you will need to apply to join the Housing Register. Your application will then be assessed and you will be informed whether or not you qualify for the Housing Register and how to be considered for an apartment.

  • shared ownership prices and rental costs are subject to periodical re-evaluation and could increase
  • service charges and associated costs are estimated and could be subject to change
  • some costs and charges may be eligible for Housing Benefits
  • it is important to remember that in addition to these accommodation costs, you are responsible for providing for your day-to-day living needs e.g. Council Tax, food, personal items, electricity, water rates, telephone, TV etc.

When can you visit?

Once your application has been assessed and you have received confirmation that you are eligible to rent an apartment you will be contacted and arrangements made for you to visit your prospective new home.
