Recycling collections are improving across Central Bedfordshire
From 30 March 2026, all households will be able to recycle glass bottles and jars at home using their mixed dry recycling bin or sacks, and residents living in flats will receive weekly food waste collections.
If you already receive a food waste collection, nothing will change. Collection frequencies for households will stay the same.
To introduce these improvements, we are reorganising recycling collection rounds. Some households will have a new bin collection day.
If your collection day changes, we will write to you before the changes begin. We will also update the bin collection calendar below from early March 2026.
Your current downloadable collection calendar remains valid until 27 March 2026. We will publish new downloadable calendars from 30 March 2026.
We will phase out bottle banks as glass recycling moves to home collections. You can still recycle glass at Household Waste Recycling Centres.
