You will need a digital device to make an application. Our application process is online and you can apply using a computer, laptop, tablet, or phone.
Application criteria does apply. You will need an email address to make an application. If you do not have an email account you may use a trusted person’s email address — for example, this could be a family member, friend or carer.
The application process will take about 40 to 50 minutes to complete; don't worry, you'll be able to save your progress and pick up again later if you need to.
Need help to complete your application or have a question or query?
The Housing Demand Team are available to help those who are unable to complete the application form themselves. If you would like to book a telephone appointment to be supported to complete the application, please contact this team using the contact details below.
Please be aware, however, that you will need to wait for an appointment and it may be quicker to get a family member, friend or carer to help you complete the application online.

How to apply
Buy your independent living apartment
What is shared ownership?
The option to purchase a proportion of an apartment is being made available via a shared ownership scheme. This enables shared owners to be part of the Meadowsweet Place community and the benefits the building provides. Once assessed by an independent financial advisor, customers may be eligible for 10% to 75% ownership, with no rent payable above 75% ownership.
Check you are eligible
To qualify for our shared ownership apartments, you must meet the Older Person Shared Ownership scheme's (GOV.UK) criteria:
- be aged over 55
- have an annual household income of no more than £80,000
- can secure a mortgage or have sufficient funds to pay the share in full, if retired
- you will need to sell any existing property owned before buying through the Older Person Shared Ownership scheme
- any first-time buyers or buyers who previously owned property, but can't afford to buy property in a privately-run independent living scheme, are eligible to apply
- all outstanding credit issues such as county court judgements or unsatisfied defaults must be cleared
