Support for carers

Moving into residential care and former carers

A former carer is someone who, due to bereavement or other circumstances, no longer has the responsibility of being a primary carer. This includes situations where the person they were caring for moves into alternative accommodation such as residential/nursing care or social/educational placements.

This can be a very difficult and sad time, and there is support available.

Moving into residential care

When someone moves from their own home to residential care it can come with mixed emotions, for both the person and their carer.
