Local Nature Recovery Strategy
Nature is facing challenges from climate change to development. Local Nature Recovery Strategies aim to identify local actions and locations where nature recovery can be delivered. Nature can help provide us with clean water, recreation opportunities and mitigate the impact of climate change. So, a healthy environment benefits us all as well as wildlife.
We're responsible for developing the strategy for the whole of Bedfordshire. We will be working closely with Bedfordshire Local Nature Partnership, Luton Borough Council and Bedford Borough Council along with a range of other partners and stakeholders.
We have reviewed the responses and are now seeking the views of farmers and landowners and anyone else with an interest in nature.
How you can get involved
We are running a survey from 16 September to 6 November 2024 to help us develop our strategy further. To share your views or for more information, please visit: Bedfordshire LNRS or email us at: lnrs@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk
Farmers and landowners
Farmers, landowners and land managers have a vital role in helping nature recover. Delivering the outcomes of the LNRS and supporting wildlife will rely on actions being taken throughout the county. Therefore, we are keen to hear from those in the agricultural and land management sector to capture your thoughts on what nature recovery actions are important to you and where these may be possible.
Local communities
A healthy natural environment will support local communities. Nature can provide a range of benefits such as fresh water, clean air and healthy soils. In addition, they can provide health and wellbeing benefits. Therefore, we’d like to hear from local communities on what actions for nature are important to you.
