We're celebrating as we've received six Green Flags to fly across Central Bedfordshire parks

Six of our open spaces have today been recognised as some of the best community-run green spaces in the country in the UK’s National Green Flag Awards 2020.

Amongst these, we've secured our first ever full Green Flag Award for Rushmere Country Park.

Our other five parks and green spaces that received the prestigious Green Flag Award this year are:

  • Linslade Wood
  • Houghton Hall Park
  • Tiddenfoot Waterside Park
  • Flitton Moor

Meanwhile, Studham Common received its Green Flag award for the thirteenth year running.

Councillor Ian Dalgarno, our Executive Member for Community Services, said:

This is fantastic news that six of our public spaces have been nationally recognised in the Green Flags Award scheme, especially this year when our parks and open spaces have been a lifeline to residents, providing them with a place to relax, meet friends, exercise or simply escape for a short time.

The green flags flying across Central Bedfordshire are a testament to the efforts of both the staff and volunteers, who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Awards.

We also host a number of activities, all year round, throughout our various parks to get fit, stay healthy or keep active. Find out about our leisure activities,
