Wednesday, 31 July 2019

We have teamed up with SNAP Parent Carer Forum to offer a film screening of Toy Story 4, woodland crafts and games for families who have children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

The sessions, which are part of a series of summer holiday events for children with SEND across Central Bedfordshire, are an opportunity for the whole family to attend an event together and share experiences with other families who also have a child with SEND.

We have also updated our online SEND Local Offer with information on local accessible services and support, again working in partnership with the SNAP Parent Carer Forum to map services that support children and young people with SEND.

Our Family Information Directory has also been revamped with increased functionality to help residents find services, support groups, activities, events and more. The website will continue to offer free impartial information and signposting for families with children aged 0 to 19 (up to 25 years for those with additional needs), helping users get the most out of the information and services available in the community and online, such as:

  • childcare options, including childminders, pre-schools, nurseries and after school clubs
  • help with childcare costs
  • activities and groups
  • find out What’s On at your local Children’s Centre
