Stotfold Library is relocating
Stotfold Library is preparing to relocate to its new home in Oak Hall within the Greenacre Centre and will officially open its doors on Wednesday 11 June. This move marks an exciting new chapter for library services in Stotfold.
The current library will close on Saturday 17 May, paving the way for enhanced services and facilities. During the closure, information on accessing library services can be found in our media release.
The new location promises an expanded book selection, additional self-service machines, and upgraded security features. Community integration is central, with a larger event space designed for popular children’s activities and lots of free parking available on site.
This modern hub at the heart of the community offers increased study areas, an enhanced IT zone, and improved Wi-Fi coverage, catering to those needing internet access or PC use for educational and skill-building opportunities.
The library features improved zoning supported by new shelving that helps define dedicated areas within the space—such as sections for children, adults, and specific genres. Combined with new flooring and modern furniture, this thoughtful layout enhances both functionality and overall appeal. More natural light and improved ventilation create an inviting space for reading, relaxing, and browsing.
Located within the Greenacre Centre, the library benefits from accessible public toilets meeting modern standards. This relocation was made possible by £300k in funding, with £200k from our Capital Budget and £100k from local developers' S106 contributions, ensuring the creation of a contemporary, accessible community space.
We are pleased to be working with Stotfold Town Council, owners of the Greenacre Centre, on this new chapter.
