What is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a great opportunity to earn whilst you learn. As an apprentice, you’ll:
- be employed, earn a wage, and get holiday pay
- work alongside experienced staff and gain job-specific skills
- get time for training and study related to your role
- complete a nationally recognised programme
There are over 650 different apprenticeships ranging from Level 2 to Level 7, covering a range of job roles and sectors and take between 1 – 6 years to complete. You can search for apprenticeships (GOV.UK) on the Skills England website.
The Bedfordshire Employment and Skills Academy delivers apprenticeships in 3 key areas:
- Customer Service and Business Administration (Levels 2 and 3)
- Early Years (Levels 2 and 3)
- Teaching Assistant (Level 3)
