Staff

We are committed to the highest standards in protecting and safeguarding children.

We pay full regard to ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (DfE 2022).

All staff working directly with children have undergone comprehensive checks to ensure their suitability.

All employees undertake interviews and appropriate checks.

These checks include:

  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations and prohibition order which will also include historic GTCE sanctions
  • identity checks
  • appropriate qualifications
  • professional and character references
  • previous employment history checks including any gaps
  • health checks and physical capability for the job

Risk assessments

Everyone’s safety is of the upmost importance to the Jigsaw Service.

All areas of each Jigsaw hub have been risk assessment.

Site and area risk assessments are reviewed annually, or sooner should an issue arise.

All children attending a Jigsaw hub will have an individualised risk assessment throughout their time with us. The risk assessments are reviewed and updated daily.

All risk assessments are available for viewing upon request.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

We already highly value and protect all of our children, parent and staff data and will update our practices and procedures to keep up-to-date with current data protection regulations.

For further information about GDPR please visit the Information Commissioner’s Office website.

If you have any question in relation to data, the way its processed etc. please do ask. You can do this by emailing jigsaw.centre@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk or phoning 0300 300 5735 and we will pass on your queries to the relevant person.

Online safety

Children are becoming more interested in technology and accessing a wider range of internet-based services and electrical equipment. We recognise that this can be a confusing and trying time for parents and schools; trying to ensure all children are safe accessing these devices whilst still enjoying the fun they are able to provide.

Read our advice on internet safety for children (PDF). If you have any concerns or questions regarding internet safety please do not hesitate to contact a member of our Jigsaw Inreach team.
