Homeless review

How to ask for a homeless review and the time limit involved

You have 21 days to ask for a review.

These 21 days run from:

  • the date you received our decision letter
  • the date your legal representative (if you have one) received our decision letter

How to ask for a homeless review

You (or someone acting on your behalf) can:

What we need to know

When you ask for a review, we need you to:

  • clearly tell us you'd like a review
  • tell us which decision (or decisions) you'd like us to reconsider
  • keep a copy of your review request (or keep a record, if you asked for it in person or by phone)

Read more about what we need to know.

If you don't ask for a review within 21 days

You'll lose your right to review.

You can still ask us to accept a late review, but bear in mind:

  • we'll need a good reason for the delay
  • we don't have to accept a late review by law

If you don't receive our decision letter

If you don’t receive the decision letter, we can legally treat you as if you did receive it. This is because decisions are available for you (or someone on your behalf) to collect from our Dunstable office (view our Dunstable office address).

Ask us if you want to know whether this rule applies in your case (it depends on the type of decision you want us to review).
