The Mary Bassett Lower School is seeking a dynamic and experienced School Business Manager to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the efficient and effective management of the school's financial, administrative, and operational functions. General overview of responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the school's financial operations, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures in line with school objectives.
  • As a member of the SLT collaborate with school leadership to formulate strategic plans and contribute to the overall development of the institution.
  • Understand and lead on ICT and management communication systems
  • Lead the administration team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, including human resources, procurement, and facilities management.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, such as vendors, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Manage health and safety arrangements, in liaison with the headteacher and site manager, ensuring that these practices meet statutory obligations and that they are reflected in the school’s Health and Safety Policy. 
  • Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on resource allocation and financial decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in school administration.
  • Understand the schools safeguarding procedures and lead on the management and upkeep of the SCR in conjunction with the DSL
  • Lead on facilities and property management
