Please use this form if you wish to make a Code of Conduct complaint against a Central Bedfordshire Councillor or Town/Parish Councillor or co-opted member.
Please note:
- Complaints will only be accepted in writing, you are encouraged to complete this form which will be submitted to the Monitoring Officer
- Complaints can only be accepted in respect of a member’s conduct at a time when they were acting in their capacity as a Councillor. The Council has no jurisdiction over the conduct of a Councillor who is neither acting in their capacity as a Councillor nor conducting the business of the Council nor representing the Council or its views
- The Council is unlikely to be able to keep your identity or the information you have provided confidential if you make a complaint. If you have serious concerns about disclosure of your name and a summary of your complaint, please complete section 8 on confidential information
- Part 5B of the Central Bedfordshire Council’s Constitution details the Arrangements for Dealing with Standards Allegations under the Localism Act 2011
- An officer from the Council may contact you personally to go through the details of your complaint
Complaints about councillors
Complaints about councillors who may have breached the Code of Conduct fall to our Monitoring Officer to address under a specific procedure.
The Members Code of Conduct (Part 5A of the Central Bedfordshire Council Constitution) outlines the code of conduct for our councillors.
Town and parish councillors will be subject to their own codes of conduct.
