If a school is wishing for the Local Authority to proceed to consider prosecution under Section 444 1 or 1a for attendance this form is to be used. This means that a school is wishing for Central Bedfordshire Council to offer a pre-court meeting to parents which a School Attendance Officer will arrange with the school and parent.
Please note that all evidence of support from the school needs to be provided with this referral, utilisation of the Road Map for Attendance can be helpful for this, if all information is not provided the referral will be rejected.
The Pre Court meeting will consist of Interview under PACE conditions and a parental contract. This will be reviewed usually in a 6-week period. The Legal Interventions Officer will decide the next legal course of action.
