Two parent governors appointed to Children’s Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee

Two new parent governor representatives have taken up their posts on our Children’s Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
Amy Toinko and Julia Spence began serving as representatives for council-maintained schools at the end of last month following an election and approval by the Monitoring Officer.
They will serve up to April 2027 on the committee, which scrutinises performance, considers children’s services policy and offers comments that inform our Executive in making decisions.
Earlier this year, we also sought nominations for 2 other parent governors with Richard Sherry appointed as a representative of special schools and Emma Ponsonby as the academy representative.
