Work starts on new Crematorium

Groundwork construction has started on a new facility in Steppingley, near Flitwick.
We have appointed Spacemaker Developments as the contractor to begin building a new contemporary crematorium within attractive landscaped grounds.
Councillor Eugene Ghent, Executive Member for Assets and Housing, said:
The Crematorium will be the first in Central Bedfordshire and will enable local people to say goodbye to loved ones who have passed away in an appropriate setting closer to home.
We want to provide our residents with a local service at what can often be a very distressing and challenging time for families.
It is anticipated there will be capacity for four to five services a day between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. The gardens will be open for residents to use and enjoy, with free parking onsite.
The contractor has started pre-works on site and the Crematorium is expected to open in the Spring of 2024.
