Last chance to have your say on the funding approach for SEND short break leisure activities

Friday, 4 November 2022

Make sure you have your say on our consultation to gain views on the funding approach for SEND short break leisure activities.

The consultation was created in partnership with SNAP parent carer forum, as well as parents from Central Bedfordshire who have children with SEND.

Currently, there are 6 suppliers that we work with to provide short break leisure activities, and this consultation aims to find out if the current funding model enables organisations to meet the needs of children and young people with SEND in Central Bedfordshire, or if more variety is needed.

Councillor Sue Clark, our Executive Member for Families, Education and Children, said:

Providing short break leisure activities for children and young people with SEND that are well-informed by our users is important so that we get the offer and model right. We want young people and their families to shape these services and the best way to do this is to have your say through this consultation. We want to know if you think what is on offer now meets your expectations when it comes to the choice available, and location or if we should provide a wider range of short break leisure activities and what they might be. Please take the time to have your say by 10 November 2022 on this extremely important and popular service.

Find out how to have your say.
