The Official Proclamation was passed to Vice-Chair of the Council, Cllr Caroline Maudlin by the High Sheriff of Bedfordshire Lady Jane Clifford, to read out.

Councillor Maudlin said:

The proclamation of the new Sovereign is a very old tradition which can be traced back over many centuries. It was an honour and a privilege to read the proclamation and announce the new King, His Majesty King Charles III.
