Last chance to have your say – accessing council services in the Dunstable area

Friday, 12 August 2022

There are two extra opportunities to hear more about our plans for how you can access council services in-person in the Dunstable area before the consultation closes on 22 August.

We want to ensure we make the best use of our resources and ultimately public money. We need to change our buildings and estate to reflect changing customer expectations and demand for in-person appointments.

We are proposing not to re-start/carry out in-person appointments at Watling House in Dunstable, and instead to provide them from other public buildings in the local area such as the Dunstable leisure centre and library and Grove Theatre.

Despite this trend, we know there will always be times when in-person appointments are needed, so we are asking people to share their thoughts on some possible alternatives.

You can read the full consultation information online at www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/consultations. The consultation closes on 22 August so have your say by then.

Or if you want to speak to someone, come along on:

  • Thursday, 18 August 2022, midday to 2pm, Disability Resource Centre/ Advice Central, Mayfield Centre, 4, Mayfield Road, Dunstable LU5 4AP
  • Friday, 19 August 2022, midday to 2pm, Houghton Parade, Dunstable

Paper copies of the consultation are in Dunstable, Houghton Regis and Leighton Buzzard libraries if you would like to fill it out that way (with a Freepost address to send it in).
