Have your say on proposal for a new Linmere ward

Tuesday, 12 May 2026

Central Bedfordshire Council is calling on residents and businesses to have their say on proposals to create a new ward for the Linmere area.

The consultation, which opens on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, focuses on how Linmere should be represented as it continues to grow into a distinct and established community within Houghton Regis.

Linmere is a major new development that, once complete, will be comparable in size to a small town. Through this consultation, the Council is seeking views on whether creating a new ward would provide dedicated representation at town council level and help ensure local decision-making reflects the needs of residents and businesses.

Councillor John Baker, our Executive Member for Finance, said:

Linmere is growing fast and developing a strong identity. It’s only right that the community has a clear voice and dedicated representation. This consultation is your chance to shape how Linmere is represented - so I’d encourage everyone to get involved and have their say.

Residents and businesses can take part in the consultation until Tuesday, 9 June 2026.
