Join our fun outdoor events in Central Bedfordshire to celebrate ‘Love Parks Week’

Wednesday, 17 July 2019

We are celebrating Love Parks Week by holding a series of activities to inspire people of all ages to play, explore, exercise and relax, running from 24 July – 2 August.

As part of the celebrations there will be lots of events throughout the week in Central Bedfordshire, a number of them free to attend, ranging from Bug Labs at various locations, open-air theatre, outdoor fitness sessions, children's activities and much more. All the events are available on our Love Parks Week page.

Councillor Ian Dalgarno, our Executive Member for Community Services, said: “Whilst the warm weather has already provided plenty of excuses to head outdoors, Love Parks Week is a great opportunity to enjoy the beautiful green spaces of Central Bedfordshire.

“We believe we have some breath-taking parks and open spaces and six of them have been recognised this week as some of the best community-run green spaces in the country in the National Green Flag Awards.

“We want our residents and visitors to make the most of our fantastic parks and countryside sites, and there's an array of interesting events lined-up to throughout the week. What better way to start the school holidays than spending time outside, together with family and friends?”

We are encouraging residents to take a photo, video or simply post on social media, tagging in @Letstalkcentral and use #NationalParksWeek to tell the world why you love your park.
