The Green Ship sails in to Central Bedfordshire libraries

The Green Ship come to life, as Librarian Theatre transforms libraries into magical spaces and share a heart-warming story about childhood, friendship and the power of imagination.
The play is part of a national tour by Librarian Theatre and tells the story of two young siblings, who whilst on holiday, climb over a neighbour’s wall into a large garden. There they discover a huge ship made out of trees and bushes, make friends with the marvellous Mrs Tredegar and use their imaginations to go on a series of glorious voyages.
The Green Ship is a beautifully illustrated, heart-warming story by Sir Quentin Blake. Enjoyable for both the young and young at heart, The Green Ship allows everyone to rediscover the delight of childhood games based on fun in a great outdoor space; and where the only limit to the adventures you can have, is your own imagination.
Councillor Ian Dalgarno, Central Bedfordshire Council’s Executive Member for Community Services says:
We are delighted that our libraries will be hosting performances of this lovely play based on the book by Sir Quentin Blake, one of Britain's most famous illustrators and children's authors. Performances such as this can help bring both books and libraries to life, and in the process encourage imaginations and engender an early curiosity for stories amongst our younger residents.
