The Schools Personnel Handbook covers the procedures and guidelines relevant to human resource management in schools. We consider the documents contained in this handbook to form part of the contract of employment for staff in maintained schools.
All the personnel procedures currently contained within the handbook have been approved by us and are the result of full and careful negotiations with the teachers’ professional associations and with the other recognised trades unions for support staff. The review of these procedures will go through the same negotiation process.
