About the homelessness and rough sleeping consultation
Consultation ended: Sunday 15 September 2019
The Homelessness Act 2002 places a legal duty on local authorities to undertake a comprehensive review of homelessness in the area every five years and produce a homelessness strategy based on the findings of that review.
The government’s more recent Rough Sleeping Strategy required that all local authorities should publish a Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy by this coming winter.
Homelessness can happen to any of us, so we have worked with partners and customers, including those who have experienced homelessness, to really get a good idea of how the situation looks now and how we can work together to support people.
