From 10 July 2025 to 1 October 2025 we consulted on our refreshed SEND Strategy which sets out how we, with local partners, will work together over the next 3 years to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) and their families.
The strategy recognises the increasing demand for SEND services and the growing complexity of need, and sets out a whole-system approach to making sure children and young people get the right support at the right time.
The consultation results (PDF) are summarised in the Executive report and are available as part of the Executive Committee papers. Respondents to the consultation were broadly supportive of the vision, values, outcomes and priorities.
The Executive made a decision on 7 April 2026 to approve the refreshed SEND Strategy for 2025 to 2028.
