We're now seeking feedback on the new policy, and are carrying out a 4-week consultation.
We want to hear from all tenants, not just those who currently have pets. We are particularly keen to receive feedback from tenants and leaseholders who keep pets, those considering getting a pet, residents without pets who may be affected by pets in neighbouring properties, and anyone with an assistance dog, therapy animal, or emotional support animal. Hearing from all these groups will help us gain a full understanding of whether the proposed policy is reasonable, workable in practice, and fair for everyone.

What happens next?
Once the consultation has closed, feedback will be collated and presented to a future meeting of the Landlord Assurance Board for review. If changes are made, they will come into effect from summer 2026.
