Bus timetable service changes - September 2024

East Bedfordshire

Route 96 / 96A (Stotfold / Arlesey – Letchworth) will have a new timetable and a new operator – A2B Bus and Coach. The new timetable will include additional journeys between Fairfield and Stotfold, via Arlesey, to serve Pix Brook and Etonbury Schools.

Grant Palmer Route 74 (Bedford – Biggleswade – Hitchin) will have a minor timetable change at school times to provide a link from the Bedford / Upper Caldecote direction to Edward Peake School.

Grant Palmer Routes 189 / 190 (Sandy – Potton – Biggleswade) will have timetable changes at peak times, to serve Cockayne Hatley Turn, and to provide a link to and from Edward Peake School.

Many Wanderbus services in central and south-east Bedfordshire are being revised, with new services to Stevenage.

Dunstable Area

Arriva route 23 (Luton – Sundon Park – Linmere – Upper Sundon) will be extended from Sundon Park to Upper Sundon via Linmere (for Lidl distribution centre) and Panattoni Park.

Arriva route 26 (Luton – Bushmead – Warden Hill) will be extended to Bramingham Park Sainsburys.

Arriva route 28 / 28B (Luton – Leagrave – Linmere) will no longer serve Linmere or Panattoni Park; links to these areas will be provided by extended route 23.

Arriva routes 31, A and Z (Luton – Dunstable) will have new timetables.

Arriva routes F70 and F77 (Milton Keynes – Leighton Buzzard – Dunstable – Luton Airport) will have new timetables.

Arriva route 800 (Houghton Regis – Cardinal Newman School) will be replaced by new route CN6.

Grant Palmer route 78 (Luton – Upper Sundon) will be withdrawn. Arriva route 23 will provide a more regular service to Lower and Upper Sundon. Streatley will have additional journeys on Grant Palmer route 79.

Grant Palmer route C (Luton – Dunstable – Weatherby) will have a new timetable.

Grant Palmer route Hi (Luton – Dunstable – Houghton Regis North) will have a new timetable, with additional journeys that will run direct on the Busway between Houghton Regis and Luton without serving Dunstable Town Centre.

Red Eagle route 61 (Dunstable – Tring – Aylesbury) will have minor timing changes and will be re-routed in Tring to serve the Railway Station. Visit the Red Eagle website for more information.

South Beds Dial-a-Ride route 40 (Dunstable – Whipsnade / Studham) will have a new timetable with additional journeys to serve the Langdale area; some afternoon journeys will run as route 40A.

South Beds Dial-a-Ride route 47 / 47A (Toddington – Woburn Sands – Leighton Buzzard / Dunstable) will have minor timetable changes.

South Beds Dial-a-Ride route 74 (Hockliffe – Dunstable) will be withdrawn now that Arriva route X1 is providing a regular service via Hockliffe.

South Beds Dial-a-Ride route 231 (Pepperstock – Dunstable) will have a new timetable with additional journeys, and school time journeys will serve Manshead Academy.

South Bedfordshire

Arriva routes 321 (Luton – St Albans – Watford), 721 (Luton – St Albans – Hemel Hempstead) and 821 (Luton – St Albans Schools) will have new timetables, and will depart from stand 9 at Luton Station Interchange. Route 721 will now call at all stops between St Albans and Luton. Centrebus route 366 (Luton – Harpenden – Welwyn Garden City) will have a new timetable, with more journeys, and will be extended to Hatfield / South Hatfield. Visit the Centrebus website for more information.

Leighton Buzzard Area

Arriva routes F70 and F77 (Milton Keynes – Leighton Buzzard – Dunstable – Luton Airport) will have new timetables.

Arriva Route L3 (Leighton Buzzard – Chamberlains Barn) will have a new timetable and will no longer serve Meadow Way.

Arriva Route L4 (Leighton Buzzard – Apex Park) will have a new timetable and will run via South Street and Brooklands Drive rather than Hockliffe Road, which will now be served by route L5.

Arriva Route L5 (Linslade – Leighton Buzzard – Brooklands) will have a new timetable and will run via Hockliffe Road rather than South Street and Brooklands Drive, which will be served by route L4. Buses will no longer serve Rosebery Avenue or Stoke Road.

Arriva Route X4 (Aylesbury – Leighton Buzzard – Milton Keynes) will have a new timetable, and the route will change. As well as changes to the route into Aylesbury and Milton Keynes, in Leighton Buzzard, the route will run via Billington Road to Roman Gate and will no longer serve Bunkers Lane and Southcourt Road. Route X40 (Heath and Reach – Aylesbury Schools) will run as an additional journey on route X4. Visit the Arriva website for more information.

Mid Bedfordshire Area

Grant Palmer route 79 (Shefford – Barton le Clay – Luton) will have two additional journeys a day between Luton and Barton le Clay via Streatley. Existing journeys will stay at their current times.

Many Flittabus routes in and around Flitwick, and Wanderbus services in central and south-east Bedfordshire are being revised, with new Wanderbus services to Stevenage.

New timetables for all these services are on Traveline and will appear on bus operators’ websites.
