Information Security
Information stored and processed by the council or by third parties working on behalf of the council is a valuable asset. Without adequate levels of protection, confidentiality, integrity and availability of information, the council will not be able to fulfil its obligations including the provision of government services and meeting legal, statutory and contractual requirements.
The Information Security Statement (PDF 66.1KB) states what the general public can expect as regards information security.
Classification and Protective Markings
Security classification (PDF 272.7KB) is a means by which information and the systems that hold that information are grouped so that the same controls around the protection and handling of the information assets can be applied to items with the same classification. Protective marking helps to ensure that our statutory obligations under the Data Protection Act 2018 are met.
Information Sharing
Information sharing is key to the Authority’s goal of delivering better, more efficient services that are coordinated around the needs of the individual. It is essential to enable early intervention and preventative work, for safeguarding and promoting welfare and for wider public protection. Information sharing is a vital element in improving outcomes for all.
