Emergency planning

How can you, your friends and family be more prepared for an emergency?

At Central Bedfordshire Council we recommend that you are prepared for at least 7 days of disruption to the everyday services we usually rely on. The best way to protect yourself, your loved ones, businesses, and the community is to PLAN ahead so that you are ready to act if the time comes.

PLAN stands for :

  • Prepare
  • Look out for others
  • stay Alert
  • act Now

Preparing your family, home and community ahead of time will reduce stress and uncertainty during an emergency.

The more prepared we are as a society the less impact emergency situations and events will have.

We advise you to follow the PLAN principle. You can find out how to do this on the Bedfordshire Prepared – PLAN ahead webpages.

Did you know if you have a vulnerability or someone living with you that could be vulnerable you can sign-up with your utility providers for their Priority Services and receive extra support in an emergency.
