Level 2 support work in schools courses

At the Bedfordshire Employment and Skills Academy, we work with local schools to bring you this fantastic opportunity to learn what it’s like to work in school as a teaching assistant or learning support assistant, whilst completing a nationally recognised qualification.

The Level 2 Support Work in Schools course is an introductory course delivered over 13 sessions, aimed at those who wish to start a career in support work in schools, for example as a teaching assistant.

You’ll start off by understanding the role and value of being a volunteer, and then move on to develop your knowledge around how schools operate; the legislation that must be followed; how children develop and learn and how to support this development in the classroom.
