We work in partnership with a specialist team at Bedford Borough Council, which supports Central Bedfordshire residents with visual and hearing impairments.

The team works with people of all ages who are profoundly deaf, or have an acquired hearing loss and supports them to live as independently as possible. This may include financial help towards the cost of equipment, through the Direct Payment scheme.

Local help and support
Sight Concern Bedfordshire is a registered charity which works with us to help people with sensory impairment problems such as sight loss and hearing loss. They offer information advice and guidance for living with and managing these conditions, as well as benefits advice, befriending and access to social groups.
