How to recycle your real Christmas tree
Recycle your real Christmas tree at any of our four recycling centres/tidy tips or by placing it near your recycling bin, on your normal recycling collection day, between Monday 5 January and Friday 16 January 2026. This service is open to all households in Central Bedfordshire, at no extra cost to you.
Please note that no other garden waste will be collected as part of this service.
Trees must meet the following requirements:
- maximum height of 6 feet (183cm)
- trunk no wider than 3 inches (8cm) in diameter
- all decorations, lights, tinsel and stands must be removed

Missed Christmas tree collection
If your Christmas tree collection has been missed, you must report it within 2 working days of your scheduled collection date using the form below.
Once you open the form, select 'Other' and then choose 'Christmas tree' from the dropdown menu.
As long as the report is submitted within 2 working days, we will arrange to collect your tree.
