Training packages for local authorities from the Place Academy

The Place Academy approach has proved a successful tool for Central Bedfordshire Council and we are looking to offer support and training for Local Authorities who would like to establish a similar approach.

We are continually developing this service, so if there is help or support you may require which is not listed below, please contact theplaceacademy@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk and we will be happy to discuss and explore these further with you.

Training and support offered

We offer four types of training which are listed in more detail below:

We can provide advice on what we do, when is the best time for recruitment and how to get the best pool of candidates, including:

  • assistance with tips on good recruitment campaign
  • shortlisting
  • interviewing
  • scheduling the day/assessments and tasks
  • assistance/support with the assessment day

Mentoring/networking support

We can provide guidance and support in terms of mentoring support for new trainees and the approach we use. We can also provide opportunities for networking with other individuals at the same level. The networking opportunities will allow skill sharing and support from peers at the same level.
