How to register a young carer
To register a young carer, you'll need to tell us:
- the child's:
- name
- date of birth
- address
- your contact details

Supporting young carers in school
We hold regular Young Carers Network meetings, inviting schools across Central Bedfordshire to share learning around identifying young carers, how to best support, gaining YCiS awards (explored below), and how to set up and run your own young carers support networks and groups within your school.
We welcome identified leads from any schools or organisations in Central Bedfordshire that support children to attend. If you are not already signed up for our Young Carers Network meetings, and would like to be, please email: youngcarers@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk.
We have worked alongside the Children’s Society to raise awareness of its Young Carers in Schools (YCiS) awards, where schools can achieve nationally recognised Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards for their young carers's support.
