Mental health support for Ukrainian guests
Your doctor (GP) is trained to give guidance and treatment on emotional and mental health as well as physical health.
The following support services might be helpful to those who are struggling to cope with their recent traumatic experiences:
- Bedfordshire Wellbeing Service
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
- SHOUT: Text SHOUT to 85258 24/7 free text service for anyone in crisis
- Barnardo's: Ukrainian support helpline to provide a holistic support service; the helpline is available to anyone fleeing the conflict in Ukraine

- Samaritans – call 116 123 for free (a 24-hour crisis line for people contemplating harming themselves)
- Saneline – 0300 304 7000; lines are open from 6pm to 11pm every day. Calls from a mobile may be charged (practical information, crisis care and emotional support)
- No Panic – 0844 967 4848; lines are open from 10am to 10pm every day. Calls will be charged (for people experiencing panic or anxiety problems)
- Barnardo's – 0800 148 8586; lines are open from 10am to 8pm from Monday to Friday and 10am to 3pm on Saturday
If you need immediate help to keep yourself or others safe, please call NHS 111 (Option 2) for the Mental Health Crisis Line, this line is available for people of all ages 24 hours 7 days a week and answered by mental health nurses.
