The Children and Young People’s Plan outlines what we're doing with our partner organisations to deliver services and support to the children and young people in Central Bedfordshire, ensuring the best possible start in life, and succeed as they grow up.
The plan is built around seven key themes, chosen by children and young people themselves as areas that matter most to them:
- We make good choices to help our minds and bodies stay healthy
- We feel safe and have fun things to do
- We get to learn exciting and interesting things
- We are cared about, and people listen to what we say
- We are prepared for our future
- We can get support from people who understand our families
- We are looking after our planet
The updated Children and Young People's Plan (PDF, view in browser or download) builds on our previous plan which was launched in 2022. We outline how we are going to deliver this work by:
- teaming up with our partner organisations to make things work better
- working well with different parts of the council to use our time and money wisely
- creating new services together with our residents and service users
- listening to what children and young people in our area have to say
- testing new initiatives from the government and learning from them
The plan also contains useful safe links for young people to explore more information on the topics that interest them.
