In line with the decision by the Department for Education to allow only teaching school hubs to act as appropriate bodies for induction, Central Bedfordshire Council no longer offers an appropriate body service.
Current ECTs still in induction have been or will very shortly be transferred to the teaching school hub nominated by their school as their preferred new appropriate body.
Our email inbox ectadministrator@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk will be monitored for the academic year 2023/24 to deal with any queries from recent NQTs and ECTs, but any ECT who is still in induction should raise queries about their induction with their new appropriate body. In most cases this will be the Chiltern Teaching School Hub, which is the hub covering Central Bedfordshire geographically.
Teachers can access their induction record on the Teaching Regulation Agency website via the Teacher Self-Service Portal.
New statutory requirements for induction are in force from 1 September 2023.
