The parish boundary adjoins the neighbouring parishes of Biggleswade, Blunham, Everton, Moggerhanger, Northill, Potton, Sutton and Tempsford. The parish, together with the parish of Blunham are coterminous within the district ward of Sandy.

Since the creation of Central Bedfordshire, there have been no contested elections in the Beeston Ward, only one in 2011 in the Fallowfield Ward, two in the Ivel Ward in 2011 and 2019, and none in the Pinnacle Ward.
