Eggington parish has a parish council. It is warded and has 7 seats on the council. The forecast development to March 2030 is estimated at a further 250 dwellings which will generate approximately 425 additional residents over the next 5 years.

The parish boundary adjoins the neighbouring parishes of Heath & Reach, Hockliffe, Leighton-Linslade and Stanbridge. The parish ward Village together with the parishes of Chalgrave, Heath and Reach, Hockliffe, Stanbridge and Tilsworth are coterminous within the Central Bedfordshire ward of Heath & Reach. The parish ward Clipstone is coterminous (i.e. they border each other in the same area) within the Central Bedfordshire ward of Leighton-Linslade North.

As can be seen from the table above there has not been a contested election since the creation of Central Bedfordshire. The elections in 2011, 2015, 2019 and 2023 had insufficient candidates and consequently the candidates were elected without contest. The vacant seats were authorised to be filled by co-option.

The Central Bedfordshire (Electoral Changes) Order 2021 created the wards of Clipstone (with 5 councillors) and Village (with 2 councillors) in the parish of Eggington.
