Most plastics are recyclable, including plastic bottles such as plastic drinks bottles, plastic shampoo, shower gel and skincare bottles, and plastic cleaning and detergent bottles.
Plastic bottles can be placed loosely in your dry recycling (green/orange lidded) bin at home.Tips for recycling plastic bottles:
- place loose in your recycling bin
- rinse – to be recycled, plastic bottles must be clean. Leftover food and liquid can end up ruining your recycling
- squash - squash plastic bottles before recycling them to create more space in your recycling bin
- replace lids - leave lids on plastic bottles to ensure that the bottle top/lid is recycled
- leave labels on plastic bottles
