A to Z of recycling - Lids

Plastic bottles can be recycled with lids left on in your dry recycling (green/orange lidded) bin at home.

Glass bottles and jars can also be recycled at the kerbside. You can leave metal or plastic lids on, as these will be separated and recycled during the process.

There’s no need to remove lids made from a different material - keeping them on helps prevent them getting lost during sorting.
