Egg shells can be home-composted, and are a good way to add lime to your compost to reduce its acidity which creatures such as worms dislike. Egg shells are also a good slug deterrent; simply crush them and sprinkle them around your plants. Alternatively, you can place egg shells in your brown food waste caddy.
