Aluminium foil is made of metal, which is widely recycled. This includes clean aluminium foil such as pie trays or takeaway trays. These can be recycled in your dry recycling (green/orange lidded) bin at home.
Tips for recycling aluminium foil:
- rinse – to be recycled, the aluminium foil must be clean. Leftover food and liquid can ruin your recycling
- place loose in your recycling bin, scrunched together to the size of a tennis ball
