A to Z of recycling - Yoghurt pot

Description

Food pots and tubs are made of plastic and are widely recycled. Clean yoghurt pots can be placed loose in your dry recycling (green/orange lidded) bin at home.
Consider if yoghurt pots or tubs could be reused first. Plastic pots and tubs make great plant pots for seedlings.

Tips for recycling plastic tubs and trays:

  • place loose in your recycling bin
  • rinse – to be recycled, plastic tubs and trays must be clean. Leftover food and liquid can end up ruining your recycling
  • ensure any plastic film, shiny lids or absorbent layers are removed and put in your black household waste bin before recycling plastic tubs and trays. Foil layers should be removed, rinsed, and scrunched together with other foil to the size of a tennis ball to be recycled
