Notice is given in accordance with:

  • Section 19 (1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 and 2013 regulations and the statutory guidance for proposers and decision makers ‘Making significant changes (‘prescribed alterations’) to maintained schools, October 2018
  • and, under Section 84 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 and the statutory guidance in the School Admissions Code, September 2021

that Central Bedfordshire Council, Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, Bedfordshire, SG17 5TQ intends to make a significant change (prescribed alteration) to schools within the Biggleswade area from September 2024.

The proposals in this document are part of a wide reorganisation including maintained schools and planned changes to academies as set out below. This also includes related proposed changes to some admissions arrangements as a consequence of the reorganisation of schools in Biggleswade that are also included within this document. The intention is to ensure any admission arrangements in Biggleswade are consulted on and can inform the determination of the annual admissions consultation.
