Community Right to Bid
The Community Right to Bid provisions came into force on 21 September 2012.
The provisions give local community groups such as parish councils, charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises a right to nominate a building or other land for listing by Central Bedfordshire Council as an asset of community value.
When a listed asset is to be sold, incorporated local community groups will have a chance to make a bid and buy it on the open market.
